Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join its Development Planning team in a hybrid setting from Central London or Surrey.

The role focuses on leading development-focused transport planning projects, producing TA/TS/Travel Plans, advising clients, and liaising with authorities. Senior/Principal candidates are welcome for a more influential role within a collaborative consultancy.

Qualifications

• Strong UK development planning experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
• Knowledge of TRICS, TEMPro, and junction modelling software such as Junctions, LinSig, or similar.
• Experience working with developers, consultants, architects, and local authorities.
• Strong report-writing, communication, and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage client expectations.
• Collaborative approach and interest in supporting junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development-focused transport planning projects.
• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, access studies, and technical reports.
• Advise clients through planning and development processes, from initial site promotion to project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and design teams.
• Manage project budgets, programmes, and resources.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• At Principal level, contribute to client development, fee proposals, and team growth.
