Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join its London team. The role centers on development planning projects, collaborating with clients and local authorities, and taking ownership of workstreams.

You will develop transport strategies, prepare Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, and mentor junior staff. The hybrid arrangement offers three days in the office and two at home, with a competitive salary in the £45k–£55k range.

Qualifications

• Experience in development planning / transport consultancy.
• Proven track record producing Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans.
• Good understanding of TRICS, TEMPro and Junctions software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to deal with clients and authorities.
• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or related discipline.
• Professional development ongoing (e.g., TPS PDS) or working toward chartership.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, LinSig, GIS or microsimulation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Develop transport and movement strategies for residential, mixed-use and strategic development sites.
• Conduct trip generation, distribution and capacity assessments.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support and mentor junior staff and manage projects to delivery.
