Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join a Development Planning team in a fully remote, UK-wide role. You will lead complex development planning projects and provide strategic transport planning advice to developers and landowners.

You will manage client relationships, budgets and programmes, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development. A strong background in TA/TS/Travel Plans and UK planning processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Understanding of UK planning and development processes.
• Experience managing projects, budgets and client relationships.
• Ability to engage with local authorities and highway authorities.
• Ability to mentor junior/senior team members.
• Strong commercial awareness and business development interest.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Related degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or Geography.

Responsibilities

• Lead development planning projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare and oversee TA/TS and Travel Plans.
• Provide strategic transport planning advice to developers and clients.
• Manage client relationships and project budgets/programmes.
• Lead negotiations with highway authorities and consultees.
• Review and mentor junior team members’ technical work.
• Support planning applications and pre-application submissions.
• Contribute to business development and fee proposals.
• Support growth of the Development Planning team.
