Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join its Transport Planning and Engineering team in the Leicester or Nottingham offices. The role focuses on producing transport statements, assessments and travel plans to accompany planning applications for private sector clients.

You will advise on highway and transport planning issues, prepare site access layouts and highway improvements, and work with clients and authorities to deliver high-quality results on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in Transport Planning is essential for the role.
• Experience using TRICS, Junctions and related software is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver to deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with clients and authorities.

Job description

My client has an immediate vacancy for a Senior Transport Planner in their Leicester or Nottingham offices to work within their experienced Transport Planning and Engineering team.

Responsibilities

The position would primarily involve the preparation of transport statements, transport assessments and travel plans to accompany planning applications for private sector clients. The role would also include:

• Providing advice on highway and transport related planning issues, including access strategies and feasibility studies, based on current policy and guidance.
• Preparing preliminary horizontal designs for site access junctions and highway improvements for highway authority approval.
• Ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard within agreed timescales, working both independently and supporting other team members.
• Developing strong working relationships with clients, design teams (including internal and external multidisciplinary professionals) and highway authorities.

Experience

Experience in Transport Planning is essential to the role, as is experience in using relevant software, such as TRICS and Junctions. Experience using LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Sign/Line and other relevant software would also be an advantage. Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Applicants should ideally have a degree or other qualification in a relevant subject, such as Transport, Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning
