Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting a Senior Transport Planner for our Leicester or Nottingham offices. You will prepare transport statements, assessments and travel plans to support planning applications for private sector clients.

The role requires delivering high-quality technical work to deadlines, advising on highway issues, and developing strong client and authority relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Transport Planning is essential.
• Experience with software TRICS, Junctions, LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Sign/Line is advantageous.

Job description

My client has an immediate vacancy for a Senior Transport Planner in their Leicester or Nottingham offices to work within their experienced Transport Planning and Engineering team.

Responsibilities

The position would primarily involve the preparation of transport statements, transport assessments and travel plans to accompany planning applications for private sector clients.

• Providing advice on highway and transport related planning issues, including access strategies and feasibility studies, based on current policy and guidance.
• Preparing preliminary horizontal designs for site access junctions and highway improvements for highway authority approval.
• Ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard within agreed timescales, working both independently and supporting other team members.
• Developing strong working relationships with clients, design teams (including internal and external multidisciplinary professionals) and highway authorities.

Experience

Experience in Transport Planning is essential to the role, as is experience in using relevant software, such as TRICS and Junctions. Experience using LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Sign/Line and other relevant software would also be an advantage. Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

Applicants should ideally have a degree or other qualification in a relevant subject, such as Transport, Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning.
