Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking a Lead Transmission Engineer (OHL or HV Cable) to drive design assurance and technical leadership across England and Wales. The role supports projects from optioning to delivery in a hybrid working model with multiple office bases including Warwick, Bristol, London and Leeds.

• HND or degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Background in overhead lines or HV cables with experience in design activities.

• Specify, assess, and assure equipment and designs for use on the electricity transmission system.
• Undertake design assurance reviews of designs from suppliers and contractors at each project stage.
• Collaborate with a technical team across England and Wales throughout the project lifecycle.
