Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is seeking a motivated Project Engineer (OHL) to contribute to delivering overhead line transmission projects, from refurbishment to new build, on the Great Grid Upgrade with National Grid. You will lead wiring works, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure safety and on‑time delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an OHL Site or Project Engineer role.
• Experience delivering OHL project elements and interfacing with design teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, and lead OHL wiring works across MSI OHL projects.
• Develop crossing schedules and wiring methodologies for safe delivery.
• Manage design interfaces and coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Conduct RAMS reviews to ensure safety and controls.
• Oversee subcontractor performance to programme, quality, and safety standards.
• Engage with stakeholders and maintain clear communication.
• Chair and participate in project meetings with updates and decisions.
• Plan and manage OHL resources to meet deadlines.
• Conduct setting‑to‑work activities with scope, risks, and controls.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety legislation and organisational requirements.
• Collaborate with the client for alignment and issue resolution.
• Complete quality checks and maintain project records.
• Produce lookahead schedules for planning and forecasting.
• Support final handover with complete deliverables.
