Job summary

Arup is seeking a Chartered Electrical Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership across major transmission projects in the UK. You will lead the design, assurance and integration of HV electrical elements, including primary plant, protection and control, SCADA, earthing and commissioning, ensuring high quality delivery and cross-disciplinary coordination.

You will mentor engineers, drive digital engineering and governance, and collaborate with National Grid and partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng IET) or equivalent with extensive experience in major electricity transmission network infrastructure.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary electrical design teams, including design assurance, technical governance, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical expertise across HV substation primary plant, protection and control, SCADA, telecoms, metering, earthing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide organisationwide technical leadership across electrical engineering for UK projects.
• Oversee design, assurance and integration of electrical deliverables including substation layouts, protection, control and SCADA interfaces.
• Lead technical reviews, risk management and ensure compliance with health, safety and governance requirements.
