Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a Strategy & Advisory Principal to join the Transformation Design Group (TDG). This senior consulting role focuses on building trusted client relationships, shaping transformation, and delivering meaningful outcomes through advisory and hands-on delivery.

You will work across client advisory, problem-solving, proposition development and pre-sales, combining strategic thinking with practical execution across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (8+ years) in consulting or an equivalent senior advisory environment.
• Deep expertise in at least one TDG discipline (product management, service design, user research, user-centred design, business analysis, change, analytics) and how these connect with delivery and technology.
• Confidence working with senior and executive stakeholders, with the judgement to challenge constructively.
• Ability to move between strategy and detail and to work with teams to make progress.
• Experience shaping opportunities, proposals and communicating a clear value story.
• Commercial awareness balancing customer outcomes, delivery realities and sustainable growth.
• Excellent written, facilitation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise and deliver for clients, building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Bring structure to complex, ambiguous problems, connecting strategy to practical execution.
• Shape and lead advisory engagements and work packages drawing on TDG capabilities and Version 1.
• Apply user-centred, evidence-led and commercially aware approaches to transformation.
• Represent our thinking through client conversations, case studies, networks and thought leadership.
• Identify and shape opportunities with existing and new clients, articulating Version 1's capabilities and outcomes.
