Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a Strategy & Advisory Principal to join the Transformation Design Group. This senior consulting role builds trusted relationships with client leaders, navigates ambiguity and shapes user-centred digital and business transformation that delivers meaningful outcomes.

You will work across client advisory, complex problem-solving, proposition development and consultative pre-sales. The role blends big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery across leadership teams and TDG

Qualifications

• 8+ years in consulting or equivalent senior advisory environment shaping and delivering transformation.
• Deep expertise in at least one TDG discipline (product management, service design, user research, user-centered design, business analysis, change, analytics) and connection to delivery management and technology.
• Ability to engage senior and executive stakeholders and challenge constructively.
• Comfort moving between strategy and detail, setting direction while enabling teams to progress.
• Experience shaping opportunities, proposals, and communicating clear value.
• Commercial awareness balancing customer outcomes, delivery realities and growth.
• Excellent written, facilitation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across public and private sectors.
• Provide structure to ambiguous problems and connect strategy to execution.
• Lead advisory engagements and work packages using TDG capabilities and Version 1.
• Apply user-centered, evidence-led and commercially aware approaches to transformation.
• Adapt methods to client context and identify value from emerging technologies including AI.
• Represent Version 1 in client conversations, case studies and networks.
• Identify and shape opportunities with existing and new clients and lead compelling proposals.
• Collaborate across Version 1 to ensure a joined-up delivery team and contribute as a principal.
