Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Senior Road Safety and Traffic Engineer to join the Highways and Public Realm team. You will help develop, implement and review Traffic Regulation Orders, lead a small team of Traffic Engineers, and drive data-led highway safety improvements to benefit residents.

This permanent, full-time role offers 37 hours per week, a salary of £42,123 to £46,579 per year, LGPS membership and opportunities for career progression and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Degree level in Engineering or equivalent with substantial work experience.
• Member of ICE or comparable professional body and Chartered or Incorporated status.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Traffic Engineers, providing direction and line management.
• Oversee development, implementation and review of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
• Provide expert technical advice to officers, councillors, partners and stakeholders.
• Use data and evidence-led approaches to improve highway safety and network performance.
