Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking a Traffic Engineering Technical Lead to guide TRO-related and traffic engineering work within the City Transport service. You will lead technically, manage projects and engage stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant transport solutions for Bristol.

The role requires TSRGD 2016 expertise, budget and resource management, and the ability to communicate complex information to councillors and the public. Hybrid working is available, within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in traffic engineering and TRO matters.
• Knowledge of TSRGD 2016 and TRO procedures.
• Track record leading complex transport projects.
• Ability to manage budgets and resources.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with councillors and the public.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on traffic engineering and TRO matters.
• Lead development and delivery of complex transport projects.
• Quality assure and sign-off on schemes.
• Manage project budgets, resources and schedules.
• Collaborate with teams and external organisations.
• Represent the council at public meetings and consultations.
• Support staff development and service improvement.
