Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with experience delivering in a commercial setting.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or Java programming languages and frameworks.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot design and functionality issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to understand and address business needs.
• Ability to self-drive delivery and take ownership end to end.
• Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security considerations.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops, enhances and supports our Trade Execution Platform, which is critical to trading and other business activities.
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, establishing validation standards and promoting reuse.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Contribute to the wider team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
