Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to support a leading multidisciplinary rural property and land consultancy by appointing an Associate Town Planner to join their growing planning team.

With offices in Oxford, Chelmsford and Northampton, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to advance their career within a well-established consultancy working across diverse planning, development and land-related projects.

Qualifications

  • MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system is essential.
  • Experience in a planning consultancy environment preferred.
  • Experience managing planning applications and working with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to manage workloads to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of planning applications and development projects.
  • Provide strategic planning advice to clients and landowners.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake planning appraisals and assess development opportunities.
  • Prepare planning statements, reports and other planning documents.
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships and provide high-quality professional advice.
  • Support junior team members and contribute to their development.
  • Identify opportunities for new business and support growth of the planning team.
