Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Associate Town Planner to join their planning team with offices in Oxford, Chelmsford and Northampton. You will advise landowners, developers and private clients across a varied portfolio, managing applications and providing strategic planning guidance.

The candidate should hold a Town Planning degree, MRTPI status or be working towards chartership, with strong knowledge of the UK planning system.

Qualifications

Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
Experience in a planning consultancy environment.
Experience managing planning applications and client engagement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
Commercially minded and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of planning applications and development projects.
Provide strategic planning advice to clients and landowners.
Prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documentation.
Undertake planning appraisals and assess development opportunities.
Prepare planning statements, reports and other planning documents.
Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
Manage client relationships and provide high-level professional advice.
Support junior team members and contribute to their development.
Identify opportunities for new business and support growth of the planning team.
