Job summary

Carrington West is currently recruiting a Senior/Principal Town Planner for our Cheltenham office, offering hybrid working and a competitive salary. You will handle diverse planning assignments across residential, commercial, rural, heritage and strategic land sectors.

Working in a collaborative team, you will manage applications, prepare evidence for appeals, and represent clients at committees while mentoring junior staff and contributing to service improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• RTPI membership desirable.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policy.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and progress planning applications, producing robust reports
• Prepare and present evidence at appeals, hearings and inquiries
• Represent clients at planning committees and consultations
• Lead projects and support business development
• Mentor junior staff and help improve service delivery
