Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Town Planner for a permanent hybrid position (2 days in the office). The role covers a varied portfolio across residential, commercial, rural and leisure sectors, offering ownership of projects and direct client interaction.

You should have 3+ years in planning, a Town Planning degree (RTPI accredited) and solid knowledge of UK planning policy. RTPI membership or progress toward chartership is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' planning experience
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy
• Experience managing planning applications and providing planning advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident in managing projects and stakeholder communications
• RTPI membership or willingness to work towards chartership (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Manage planning applications from instruction to determination
• Prepare planning statements, reports and supporting docs
• Provide planning advice, appraisals and site assessments
• Undertake planning policy research and assess opportunities
• Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, clients and external consultants
• Attend pre-application meetings, site visits and planning committees
• Negotiate with planning officers for positive outcomes
• Manage workload and ownership of projects
• Develop and maintain client relationships
