Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead infrastructure planning projects across the UK, with a focus on DCOs. The role offers hybrid working with bases in London, Bristol, and Manchester.

You will join a national Town Planning team delivering major projects across energy, rail, water, and development sectors. You will manage planning applications, liaise with authorities, and mentor teams while contributing to client relationships and tenders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in the delivery of major development applications.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across various project types.
• Submit and manage planning applications, including liaising with local planning authorities and stakeholders.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
• Produce planning feasibility reports and consent strategies.
• Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications.
• Contribute to business development in specific market sectors, including sector strategy.
• Identify opportunities and build client relationships.
• Lead and contribute to the preparation of commercial tenders.
• Work closely with the Environmental Impact Assessment team.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders.
• Oversee project management, ensuring quality and health and safety adherence.
