Environmental / Town Planner

The Opportunity:

Our well-established Planning and Environment Team, based across the country, handles a diverse range of projects including renewable energy, waste, industrial, commercial, and major infrastructure. We have an exciting pipeline, particularly in renewable energy sectors like solar, battery, and wind technologies.

We offer hybrid and flexible working environments, consider part-time applicants, and are currently seeking candidates in Leeds.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to clients such as renewable energy developers, utility and infrastructure companies, waste operators, house builders, land promoters, investment institutions, and others throughout all planning stages.
  2. Shaping and assessing development project cases, including planning strategies, site appraisals, pre-application consultations, preparing planning applications and appeals.
  3. Managing EIA Screening and Coordination alongside the EIA team.
  4. Coordinating planning project management, liaising with technical teams, conducting community consultations, and preparing proposals.
  5. Liaising with external parties including developers, landowners, architects, engineers, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Supervising team activities and providing advice.

You:

Ideally, you will have at least 4 years of relevant experience, a strong track record in medium/large-scale planning projects, and demonstrate high technical competency, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role requires managing multiple projects within tight deadlines and problem-solving abilities.
