About the Role - Fairhurst is expanding its team in Newcastle and is seeking a passionate Senior Town Planner. As a leading planning consultancy, we work with a diverse range of clients across the UK, providing expert advice and securing planning permissions for various development projects.

Our workload is diverse, covering sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, education, retail, energy, leisure, and employment. We are committed to transparency, integrity, and helping our employees achieve their career goals through learning and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand their planning needs and guide them through the process.
• Lead and manage a range of projects and clients.
• Prepare and submit planning applications compliant with regulations.
• Work on projects in Marine, Environmental, Renewable, and Major Infrastructure sectors.
• Engage with stakeholders, authorities, and communities.
• Conduct assessments for Environmental Impact Statements (EIA).
• Manage EIA projects from start to finish, ensuring standards and deadlines are met.
• Stay updated on planning legislation and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant planning qualifications and 3+ years of experience.
• Chartered status with RTPI preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive problem-solving and project management abilities.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Experience in planning consultancy or EIA management is a plus.
• Commitment to sustainability and responsible development.
