Job summary

Vivid Resourcing is seeking a Senior Planner to join a growing Planning team in the South West. The role involves leading planning applications, client liaison, mentoring junior planners, and contributing to regional growth. Bristol-based with a minimum of 3 days in the office and a flexible hybrid arrangement.

The candidate will bring MRTPI qualifications, strong planning expertise, and a proactive approach to business development and report preparation across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified MRTPI with strong technical planning expertise.
• Experience in planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
• Proven ability to manage planning applications, appeals, and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good knowledge of the South West market and policy landscape.
• Commercially aware with interest in networking and business development.
• Mentors and supports junior planners to develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning applications, appeals, and strategic planning projects.
• Provide clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Support business development and identify opportunities for new work.
• Mentor junior planners and provide guidance and technical support.
• Prepare high-quality reports, planning statements, and representations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver successful outcomes.
