Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Senior Team Lead Thermofluids engineer to join our Derby engineering team and lead thermo-fluids activities for aero engine projects. You will supervise technical delivery, mentor engineers, and coordinate with customers to ensure high-quality results.

You will oversee thermo-mechanical analyses, generate and validate thermal models, and drive productivity improvements while fostering a collaborative, safety-conscious work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong thermal/thermofluids or thermo-mechanical analysis experience in gas turbine/aero engine applications.
• FEA-based heat transfer and thermo-mechanical analysis across 1D/2D/3D methods.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, thermal engineering and gas turbine systems.
• Experience generating/validating thermal models and data matching.
• Experience leading technical activities and managing delivery in complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of thermofluids work.
• Lead thermo-mechanical analyses of gas turbine components and whole engine applications.
• Oversee 1D/2D/3D FE analyses and thermal model development.
• Lead customer technical meetings and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Contribute to automation, productivity improvements, and proactive technical proposals.
