Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking compassionate Clinical Support Workers to join our teams at Royal Stoke and County Hospital. You will support the nursing team, uphold patient dignity and safety, and assist in peri-operative care according to care plans.

Applicants should have GCSEs, Care Certificate, and relevant care experience. For overseas qualifications, ECCTIS compatibility may be required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent certificate for Maths and English.
• Care Certificate must be completed.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification.
• IELTS or OETS accepted for overseas applicants.

Responsibilities

• Collect patients from wards for theatres.
• Maintain patient dignity at all times.
• Offer support and reassurance during transfers.
• Participate in the surgical safety checklist.
• Complete circulating duties including pre-, peri- and post-operative swab/instrument counts.
• Ensure theatres and equipment are stocked, clean and ready for lists.
• Take clinical observations and urine analysis.
• Prepare instrumentation for daily workload.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and complete mandatory training.

Education

GCSEs or equivalent (Maths & English)

Care Certificate

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent

IELTS or OETS (for overseas applicants)
