Job summary

Leonardo UK seeks a Senior Engineer to design and deliver advanced test environments for the Global Combat Air Programme, focusing on robust test capability across hardware, software and simulations. The role supports collaboration with Systems Engineers and international partners.

The position offers hybrid working with on-site collaboration, and the successful candidate may travel to Italy/Japan. A broad Defence programme context, with security clearances, is involved.

Qualifications

• Proven industry experience in Simulation and Modelling (e.g. Simulink experience).
• A degree in a relevant Science / Technology / Engineering / Maths discipline or similar experience.
• Additional skills such as Digital Twin software, Systems engineering lifecycle knowledge, and Verifications & Validations processes are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide Test Engineering expertise across Test Environments including Physical, Digital and Real-World applications, collaborating with Systems Engineers.
• Develop Physical and Synthetic Test Solutions across levels: Bench Level, Full Systems Integration, Hardware in the Loop, and Simulation modelling.
• Capture stakeholder requirements to support Test Plans, schedules, dependencies and opportunities.
• Represent Leonardo as a Test Engineering SME within Test Environments and engage with GCAP stakeholders internationally.
• Support synthetic environment trials and assist in airborne trial exploitation with multiple internal teams.
• Apply systematic Test Environments processes, methods, tools, and technology to GCAP.
