Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Systems Test Engineer to drive test capability across national and international platforms. You will oversee test equipment, define technical strategies, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure readiness and availability of avionic systems.

The role spans through-life support, governance, and bid activity, with a focus on reducing platform downtime while maintaining safe, compliant operations across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering test solutions for highly complex defence products.
• Knowledge of RF, Optical or Laser test technology is desirable.
• Experience in through-life support and test governance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee test equipment used by customers, assess opportunities and mitigations.
• Define and deliver CS3 test engineering strategies and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to implement effective test solutions.
• Translate product roadmaps into investment and improvement programs for test capability.
• Maintain relationships with CS3 programme and engineering leads; produce performance metrics.
• Support CS3 bids for ML1–ML3 test capability and services.
• Represent CS3 test engineering at sector reviews and project performance reviews.
