Job summary

Safran Gloucester is seeking a Senior Test Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of test rig systems for aircraft landing gear development and qualification. You will translate customer and test requirements into cost-effective engineering solutions, integrating mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, control and data-acquisition systems.

You will drive concept-to-delivery workflows, lead design reviews, manage suppliers, and ensure safety, manufacturability and schedule alignment across

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design capability from concept to detailed design.
• Experience with 3D CAD and engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Ability to validate designs using calculations and FEA.
• Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, control, instrumentation integrated systems.
• Knowledge of safety, ergonomics and manufacturability.
• Strong technical communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of test solutions for aircraft landing gear components.
• Develop concepts and detailed designs for development and qualification.
• Integrate test rigs with hydraulic, electrical, control and data acquisition systems.
• Validate designs using calculations and FEA.
• Lead design reviews and produce supporting documentation.
• Oversee manufacture, assembly and delivery of test rigs.
• Ensure health and safety, ergonomics, manufacturability considerations.
