Job summary

GTC Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer for a major public sector digital programme. The role involves defining testing strategy, providing technical leadership across multiple Test Engineering teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery in a complex, high-volume data environment.

You will lead testing activities, coordinate with engineering and product teams, and drive best practices, with a 6-month contract and hybrid working arrangements in the Birmingham area.

Qualifications

• Senior Test Engineer with hands-on Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle experience.
• Proven track record in planning and managing system and acceptance testing.
• Able to work across Agile or blended delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic direction for Test Engineering across product teams.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and guidance to Test Engineering teams.
• Plan and oversee system and acceptance testing.
• Define test approaches, strategies and reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Design and deliver functional and non-functional testing.
• Drive standardisation through reusable libraries, services and best practices.
• Identify dependencies, impacts, priorities and delivery risks.
• Ensure usability, accessibility, security, stability and capacity are considered.
• Mentor colleagues and drive continuous improvement.
