Job summary

MBDA Missile Systems in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join the Manufacturing team, supporting test and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems during early product phases. You will contribute to test capability and ensure targets meet time, cost and quality.

The role offers hybrid working (4–5 days on-site) with a company bonus up to £2,500, plus a generous pension and flexible benefits. BPSS checks apply for security clearance; British citizen only.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC level of qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (HND/Degree preferred).
• Experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test.
• Experience using manual and automated test equipment, preferably in a defence or similar manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with ERP/MES systems (e.g. SAP, MES) for recording test activities and generating non-conformance reports.
• Ability to plan and organise own work to meet project objectives.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; able to generate test specifications and operator instructions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide Test Engineering support during Design/Development from concept to Production Readiness.
• Support Test Facility introduction and ensure configuration control of equipment and facilities.
• Test electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards; diagnose production test failures to component level.
• Collaborate with Operations, design teams and stakeholders to overcome technical challenges.
• Deliver in line with programme and quality requirements while maintaining governance and pursuing continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Test TX's and design engineers to implement project test strategy and testability solutions.
• Assist in compiling initial process flows (MTIFs) for new product and maintain production test equipment MTRS.
• Support Process FMEA by ensuring test mitigations are in place.
