Job summary

Burns & McDonnell currently seeks a Senior Temporary Works Engineer for Transmission in the UK. You will oversee the design, installation and maintenance of temporary works to support transmission projects, ensuring safety, compliance and robust planning.

Responsibilities include coordinating with construction management, engineering design, clients and subcontractors; identifying temporary works needs; supervising subcontractors on site; and producing design briefs and RAMS for safe execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor/Engineer/Construction related degree with 7+ years in temporary works or similar.
Higher National Diploma with 8+ years of related experience.
Higher National Certificate with 9+ years related experience.
GCSE with 10 years progressive detailing and design experience.
Strong knowledge of transmission systems, construction practices, and safety regulations.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously and with project teams.

Responsibilities

Link construction management, engineering design, clients and subcontractors for safe project delivery.
Identify temporary works requirements for specific projects.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specs.
Oversee subcontractors on site for safe temporary works execution.
Coordinate temporary works procedures and plans with stakeholders.
Develop and own Temporary Works Register for projects.
Maintain site presence and coordinate inspections and RAMS.
