Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a design-focused Civil/Temporary Works Engineer to join the Power T&D division in the UK. You will lead design delivery, coordinate with project teams, and ensure constructability and safety across cabling, OH lines and substations.

Responsibilities include producing temporary works designs, checking calculations, liaising with stakeholders, and embedding Safety by Design while aligning with BS/Eurocodes standards. Flexible working options apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent with formal training.
• Post-graduate experience in civil engineering industry.
• Knowledge of BS5975 and project design standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate civil and temporary works designs for projects.
• Check calculations and ensure compliance with BS/Eurocodes/ENA.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet objectives and priorities.
• Assist tendering and identify scope and costs for activities.
• Embed Safety by Design and ensure regulatory compliance.
