Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the UK is seeking a Technical Director for Transmission & Distribution to lead the UK T&D engineering team across Birmingham and Glasgow. You will define the technical vision, drive engineering excellence, and oversee design, QA/QC, and EPC projects for high‑voltage delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
Minimum thirteen (13) years of related professional experience.
Proven leadership and people management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the team of subject matter experts and strategic engineering advisors across the high‑voltage T&D portfolio.
Define the technical vision and establish rigorous design and QA/QC benchmarks.
Direct multidisciplinary teams delivering complex transmission projects for clients.
Drive safety, quality, and continual improvement across the engineering organization.
Collaborate with global technical leadership to advance engineering tools, methodologies, and innovation.
