Job summary

Kier is recruiting a Senior Temporary Works Advisor in Leeds. The role involves delivering high‑quality construction engineering services, providing technical guidance on temporary works, and supporting projects from tender to completion. 40 hours per week with some flexibility. Sponsorship is not available.

You will work with colleagues across the business, ensuring safe, ethical delivery and mentoring the team to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications

• Incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) or substantial equivalent experience.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Commitment to safe, ethical, and thorough delivery for clients and customers.

Responsibilities

• Advising on temporary works standards and providing design and implementation guidance.
• Undertaking compliance audits and recording findings for continuous improvement.
• Supporting bid activities with outline designs, feasibility studies and value engineering solutions.
• Providing design management advice and technical assessment of third‑party designs.
• Resolving technical issues and supporting incident investigations, while mentoring the team.

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Temporary Works Advisor, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction engineering services. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business, offering technical guidance on temporary works and supporting projects from tender stage through to completion.

Your day to day will include:

• Advising on the effective implementation of temporary works standards and providing technical guidance on design and implementation
• Undertaking compliance audits and recording findings to support continuous improvement
• Supporting bid winning activities, including outline designs, feasibility studies and value engineering solutions
• Providing design management advice and technical assessment of third-party designs
• Resolving technical issues and supporting incident investigations, whilst delivering training and mentoring to enhance team capabilities

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who meets the following:

• You're an incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) with relevant experience, or have significant experience in a similar role
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You enjoy working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions
• You're trusted to deliver what you promise, acting safely and ethically at all times
• You're focused and disciplined in your approach, ensuring thorough delivery for clients and customers
