Job summary

Kier in Watford is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Advisor to support our construction engineering team. You will provide technical guidance on temporary works, assist tendering through to completion, and collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver high-quality projects.

The role requires professional institution membership (IEng/MICE or equivalent), a full driving licence, and a collaborative, safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Member of a professional institution (IEng/MICE) or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Holds a Full driving licence.
• Experience in temporary works or similar role.
• Collaborative with clients and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Advise on implementation of temporary works standards and provide design guidance.
• Conduct compliance audits and document findings for continuous improvement.
• Support bid activities, including outline designs, feasibility studies and value engineering.
• Provide design management advice and assess third-party designs.
• Resolve technical issues and lead incident investigations while mentoring the team.

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Temporary Works Advisor, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction engineering services. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business, offering technical guidance on temporary works and supporting projects from tender stage through to completion.

Your day to day will include:

• Advising on the effective implementation of temporary works standards and providing technical guidance on design and implementation
• Undertaking compliance audits and recording findings to support continuous improvement
• Supporting bid winning activities, including outline designs, feasibility studies and value engineering solutions
• Providing design management advice and technical assessment of third-party designs
• Resolving technical issues and supporting incident investigations, whilst delivering training and mentoring to enhance team capabilities

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who meets the following:

• You're an incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) with relevant experience, or have significant experience in a similar role
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You enjoy working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions
• You're trusted to deliver what you promise, acting safely and ethically at all times
• You're focused and disciplined in your approach, ensuring thorough delivery for clients and customers
