Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Advisor to join our team across multiple UK locations with hybrid working options.

The role involves providing senior technical guidance on temporary works, supporting projects from tender to completion, and driving safe, compliant delivery across the business. Candidates should be an incorporated member of a relevant professional institution or have equivalent experience, with a full driving licence and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Must be incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) or have significant experience in a similar role.
  • Must hold a Full driving licence.
  • Able to work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions.
  • Reliable, safe and ethical in all deliveries; focused and disciplined in approach to ensure thorough delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on the effective implementation of temporary works standards and provide design/implementation guidance.
  • Undertake compliance audits and document findings to support continuous improvement.
  • Support bid-winning activities, including outline designs, feasibility studies and value engineering.
  • Provide design management advice and technical assessment of third-party designs.
  • Resolve technical issues and support incident investigations, while delivering training and mentoring to enhance team capabilities.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Temporary Works Advisor to join our team based in Birmingham / Cardiff / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Plymouth.

Location: Birmingham / Cardiff / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Plymouth – agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired.

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Temporary Works Advisor, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction engineering services. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business, offering technical guidance on temporary works and supporting projects from tender stage through to completion.

Your Day To Day Will Include
  • Advising on the effective implementation of temporary works standards and providing technical guidance on design and implementation
