Job summary

Northumbria University’s School of Design, Arts & Creative Industries seeks a Senior Technician to support students, staff and stakeholders across the Design and Arts Makerspaces, Printmaking studio and software support. The post holder will ensure safe working practices and compliant equipment handling across workshops and studio spaces.

This is a full-time fixed-term role for 8 months; applicants may work between 29.6 and 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of current technical practice relevant to Design and Contemporary Arts.
• Experience developing and delivering demonstration activities to support learning outcomes and student experiences.
• Up-to-date with current and forthcoming technical developments in support of learning, teaching, research and enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Support students, staff and stakeholders across the Makerspaces, Printmaking studio and software support.
• Ensure safe working practices in workshops and manage equipment in the studio spaces.
