The University of Salford is seeking an experienced Senior Technician (Biochemistry and Chemical Sciences) to join our technical team. This hands-on role is based mainly in Cockcroft laboratories, coordinating technical provision for teaching labs in biochemistry, organic chemistry and chemical safety.

You will plan laboratory activities, allocate resources, support colleagues, and share expertise with colleagues supporting research infrastructure.

• Strong practical background in biochemistry, organic chemistry and chemical safety.
• Ability to plan laboratory activities, coordinate resources and support colleagues.

Mansioni

• Oversee and coordinate technical provision within assigned teaching laboratories.
• Work with academic colleagues to coordinate technical preparation, equipment and resources.
• Coordinate technical workloads and provide guidance to other technicians.
• Provide specialist technical expertise in biochemistry, chemistry and chemical safety, maintaining safe laboratory operations.
• Collaborate with other Senior Technicians across teaching and research infrastructure to improve lab processes.
