The opportunity:
In the role of Senior Technical Underwriter – Property, you will utilise your technical knowledge and analytical skills to drive and support growth and improvements to our regional and national portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Underwriting Leader, you will work closely with local underwriting & sales functions to deliver our strategic objectives, provide for our customers, and build and enhance relationships with our broker partners and internal stakeholders. As a senior member of the team, part of your role will include providing technical underwriting support and guidance to the wider underwriting team and supporting their development. You will also have accountability and ownership for driving, analysing, and delivering a strong underwriting result.
The successful candidate will need to display a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and an inquisitive nature.
What are we looking for?
You will have established, strong property underwriting experience with a track record of delivery for customers of all sizes and experience managing complex risk. Additional experience in other lines of business, particularly Casualty, is preferable but not essential. Ideally, you will already be based in the Midlands/South-West area to leverage your experience and knowledge of the market. We’re looking for someone who is happy to challenge processes and decisions using attention to detail and someone eager to develop and broaden their knowledge. Organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, and work to deadlines are also key.
