Qualifications
- Extensive Commercial Motor underwriting experience.
- In-depth knowledge of motor insurance legislation and the Road Traffic Act.
- Experience reviewing policy wordings, endorsements, exclusions and coverage issues.
- Good understanding of reinsurance and treaty arrangements.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with ability to coach colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Shape underwriting risk appetite and governance for commercial motor, supporting profitable growth and portfolio performance.
- Provide expert guidance on complex risks, support referrals, review policy wordings and coverage.
- Ensure underwriting decisions are technically robust and aligned with appetite and governance.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, compliance, legal, actuarial and reinsurance teams to drive governance and continuous improvement.
- Develop underwriting guidelines and enhance technical capability within the team.
