Job summary

G MASS Consulting in London seeks an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support delivery of a new underwriting workbench platform. You will translate business and technical needs into solution artefacts that guide design, build, integration and testing teams.

Key focus areas include APIs, data mapping and data quality, policy lifecycle data movement and data ownership. You will produce clear, testable requirements, data flow diagrams and DevOps backlog items to enable smooth handoffs.

Qualifications

• Proven track record on underwriting or policy workbench implementations.
• Experience with data feeds into policy administration platforms.
• Strong APIs, system interactions and data mapping skills in insurance.
• Ability to work with architects, developers and testers.
• Experience coordinating with external vendor delivery teams.

The successful candidate will translate business and technical needs into solution-ready BA artefacts that enable design, build, integration and test teams to deliver against a clear, well-defined set of requirements.

Key Focus Areas:

• APIs and system-to-system interactions
• Data mapping, data definitions and mapping rules
• Integration requirements across underwriting and policy systems
• Policy lifecycle data movement and downstream data flows
• Definition of data quality rules, mandatory fields, data ownership and validation points/controls to ensure accurate, complete and usable underwriting data
• Gap analysis between source and target data, and definition of data transformation rules
• Process models covering current and target-state underwriting workflows
• Functional requirements specifications that are clear, testable and traceable
• Data flow diagrams and system handoff definitions
• Controls documentation and policy-lifecycle data movement mapping
• User stories, acceptance criteria and other DevOps backlog updates
• Input into, and maintenance of, the technical delivery plan
• Growing working knowledge of the client's underwriting systems to support end-user training, enhancements and adoption

Requirements

• Proven track record as a technical/solution-focused Senior Business Analyst on underwriting or policy workbench implementation programmes.
• Experience of workbench implementations with a data/system feed into a policy administration platform is essential.
• Strong grounding in APIs, system interactions, and data mapping/definition work within an insurance or London Market context.
• Comfortable operating across both business and technical stakeholder groups, and able to work directly with architects, developers and test teams.
• Experience collaborating directly with external vendor delivery teams as part of a wider project team
