Job summary

G MASS is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support delivery of a new underwriting workbench platform. You will translate business and technical needs into solution-ready BA artefacts for design, build, integration and test teams to work from.

You will contribute to test planning, test case definitions, and support through test execution and defect triage, with a focus on APIs, data mapping and policy-system integration within a London Market context.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a senior business analyst on underwriting or policy workbench implementations.
• Experience with data/system feeds into a policy administration platform is essential.
• Strong grounding in APIs, system interactions, and data mapping/definitions within insurance or London Market contexts.

Responsibilities

• Create process models for current and target-state underwriting workflows.
• Write functional requirements specifications that are clear, testable and traceable.
• Produce data flow diagrams and system handoff definitions.
• Document controls and map policy-lifecycle data movement.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria and update DevOps backlog.
• Input into and maintain the technical delivery plan.

We are seeking an experienced, Senior Technical Business Analyst to support delivery of a new underwriting workbench platform. The successful candidate will translate business and technical needs into solution-ready BA artefacts that enable design, build, integration and test teams to deliver against a clear, well-defined set of requirements.

Experience supporting the testing lifecycle is especially important for this role, including input to test planning, test case/scenario definition, and support through test execution and defect triage.

Key Focus Areas:

• APIs and system-to-system interactions
• Data mapping, data definitions and mapping rules
• Integration requirements across underwriting and policy systems
• Policy lifecycle data movement and downstream data flows

Key Deliverables:

• Process models covering current and target-state underwriting workflows
• Functional requirements specifications that are clear, testable and traceable
• Data flow diagrams and system handoff definitions
• Controls documentation and policy-lifecycle data movement mapping
• User stories, acceptance criteria and other DevOps backlog updates
• Input into, and maintenance of, the technical delivery plan

• Proven track record as a technical/solution-focused Senior Business Analyst on underwriting or policy workbench implementation programmes.
• Experience of workbench implementations with a data/system feed into a policy administration platform is essential.
• Strong grounding in APIs, system interactions, and data mapping/definition work within an insurance or London Market context.
• Comfortable operating across both business and technical stakeholder groups, and able to work directly with architects, developers and test teams.
