Job summary

d3t Studio in the UK is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to drive art pipelines, tooling, and shader creation. You will collaborate with artists to optimize real-time assets, ensure performance targets, and lead technical guidance across projects in a hybrid setup across Daresbury or Newcastle.

You will work with Maya/Max, Python scripting, and engines like Unreal or Unity, while mentoring teammates and contributing to best practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of modern game engines (Unreal/Unity) and shader/material creation.
• Proficient in Maya/3DS Max with Python scripting experience.
• Familiarity with Maya API, C++/C#, Substance, Houdini and PBR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project art pipelines from inception to project end.
• Support art and animation teams; resolve technical issues.
• Create and integrate in-house tools; develop materials and shaders.
• Ensure artwork meets memory and frame-rate guidelines via profiling.
• Collaborate with artists to improve performance while preserving visuals.
• Take ownership of features when required; adhere to naming and texture conventions.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge; contribute tutorials and guides.
• Manage tasks in Jira and communicate progress; track deliverables.
