Job summary

National Wealth Fund seeks a Senior Manager, Accounting Advisory to lead the organisation’s technical accounting function, advising on complex transactions and ensuring IFRS, Companies Act and ONS compliance. You will be the principal technical accounting adviser to senior management and deal teams, supporting financial reporting, investment activities and corporate transactions.

Location: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office. Deadline to Apply: 2nd October 2026.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Significant post-qualification experience in technical accounting and IFRS advisory.
• Experience applying standards to complex financial transactions in financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management and governance collaboration.
• Experience managing external audit relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative guidance on complex accounting matters and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain the technical accounting framework.
• Oversee technical accounting papers, policies and governance submissions.
• Lead assessment and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Oversee strategic accounting judgements and disclosures.
• Manage NAO relationship and coordinate annual audit process.
• Build relationships with NAO and external advisers to support governance.
• Lead accounting assessment of new investments and complex transactions.
• Assess impact of evolving credit changes on the accounts.
• Drive improvements in financial reporting, controls and governance.
• Lead, coach and develop finance professionals.
• Deputise for Head of Financial Control & Statutory Reporting on relevant matters.
