Job summary

The company in Manchester seeks a Principal Technical & Complex Claims Leader to shape the future of Motor Claims Management in the UK. You will drive the internalisation of Technical & Complex Claims, building a capable team and establishing strong processes for effective strategies and settlements.

Reporting to the UK Head of Claims, you will own portfolio performance, reserving philosophy, and collaboration with Capacity/Reinsurance Partners while leveraging AI and data science to advance

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in UK motor insurance, MGA or InsurTech.
• Proven track record leading major claims transformation.
• Multi-million pound Complex Claims portfolio management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Complex Claims areas: Large Loss, Complex Bodily Injury, indemnity strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design internalisation strategy for Technical & Complex Claims and lead transformation across domains.
• Build and lead a team of Technical Claims Specialists in High-Value, Large Loss, and related areas.
• Set processes for effective case strategies, proactive settlements, and commercial focus.
• Act as SME for claims topics; advise on strategies, referrals, and technical requirements.
• Manage reserving philosophy, indemnity spend, and Loss Ratio performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders across partners.
