UWE Bristol is seeking a Senior Teaching Technician: Geotechnical Engineering to join the School of Engineering. You will manage specialist laboratories, operate and maintain equipment, and provide hands-on training to support practical classes, student projects and research.

About This Role

We are seeking to appoint a permanent post for Senior Teaching Technician: Geotechnical Engineering to be part of a team of technicians providing practical teaching and support working within Test Laboratories in the School of Engineering.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape our multidisciplinary Engineering education. The successful candidate will be working alongside the programme team(s) to design and develop curricula and pedagogies that leads to outstanding learning and practice experience contributing to Engineering programmes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a technical environment, along with the skills and enthusiasm to deliver demonstrations and provide instruction to students.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineering Technician who will manage specialist laboratories, operate and maintain equipment, and provide hands‑on training to support practical classes, student projects, and research.

We particularly welcome candidates who can bring not only strong technical expertise but also a passion for supporting and mentoring the next generation of engineers. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers.

This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week.

Salary offers are made in line with the University's salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues.
