Job summary

Shaftesbury Education in the UK seeks a dedicated and experienced candidate to support learning under the direction of a teacher. You will help plan and prepare lessons, deliver learning activities for individuals, groups or the whole class, and monitor pupils' progress by assessing and reporting achievements.

The role involves maintaining a safe, purposeful learning environment for students with special needs, many of whom have EHCPs and complex needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent with relevant educational content (e.g., NVQ 3).
• Level 1/2 or equivalent in English, Maths and ICT.
• Qualified first aider and lifeguard (or willingness to achieve within 6 months).
• Moving & Handling certificate (up to date).

Responsibilities

• Lead in coordinating a safe, purposeful learning environment and support teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Supervise groups of students, deliver learning activities, and cover for the class in the teacher's absence.
• Assist with weekly planning by reviewing student planners, appointments, and parental comments.
