Job summary

Shaftesbury Park Primary School in Battersea is seeking two SEND Teaching Assistants to support named pupils with SEND. The role emphasizes wellbeing, inclusion, and a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

You will work with teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff to enable pupils to engage with learning and routines. Candidates should be patient, resilient and committed to inclusive education, with experience supporting neurodivergent pupils.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (neurodivergent or Down Syndrome).
  • Capable of personal care when needed.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND in class and in small group/1:1 work.
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours.
  • Work with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team.
  • Support pupil engagement with learning and school routines.
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, nurturing environment.
