Job summary

Shaftesbury High School is seeking a SEND Teacher to join from January 2027. The role is for MPS/UPS depending on experience, with a Special Needs Allowance. Our Green Curriculum class serves learners with SLD at Year 1/2, focusing on meeting EHCP needs and preparing for life beyond school.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, a well-designed curriculum, and robust pastoral support, within a culture of high expectations for students with SEND.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status is required.
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, including SLD, at Year 1/2 or secondary SEND setting.
  • Familiarity with EHCP-based curricula and Green Curriculum pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons and adapt teaching to meet diverse SEND needs.
  • Provide learning experiences that matter to our Green Curriculum learners.
  • Support students' pastoral needs and wellbeing as part of a holistic education.

Shaftesbury High School is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher from January 2027.

Shaftesbury High School educates 170 pupils aged 11 to 19 all with a range of special educational needs.

We are looking to recruit a SEND teacher to work with a Green Curriculum class. Our learners who have SLD, operating at Year 1 or 2, follow the semi formal Green Curriculum pathway.
