Job summary

Pioneer House High School in Manchester is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN) to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex learning needs. The role includes planning and delivering learning activities under teacher guidance, with a focus on safeguarding and attendance.

The post is permanent, 35 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks, with a starting salary of £31,713 (Grade 6 £34,237).

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and complex learning needs.
• Proven ability to plan and lead teaching activities under supervision.
• Numeracy and Literacy skills to level 2 (GCSEs 9-4/A*-C) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for classes during short-term teacher absence, including planning and assessment.
• Assess pupils' needs and use specialist skills to support learning.
• Build positive relationships and support individual and small groups.
• Implement learning activities and adjust based on pupil responses to maximise access to the curriculum.
