Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEN in a primary school. You will work with the class teacher, SENCo and family to follow the EHCP and help the pupil access the curriculum, build independence and confidence during their final year.

The role offers consistent full-time hours, weekly pay, and opportunities to work across multiple schools with ongoing professional development and potential for permanent placements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in schools or similar settings.
• GCSE grade 4/C in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred, training provided.
• Calm, flexible, resilient with nurturing approach.
• Interest in SEN such as autism, ADHD, speech and language needs.
• Reliable team player who follows guidance and uses initiative.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support in the classroom and around school.
• Adapt learning materials and use strategies to help the pupil access lessons.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional and communication needs, encouraging positive relationships.
• Deliver planned interventions and record progress.
• Contribute to reviews and communicate with parents and carers.
• Support the pupil through transition planning for Year 7.
