Senior Tax Manager - Private Client Advisory & Compliance

Are you an experienced tax professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead advisory and compliance services for a diverse private client portfolio at a reputable accountancy firm.

The Role

This senior client-facing position involves managing approximately 900 private tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, company directors, trusts, estates, and partnerships. You will work closely with Partners to oversee tax planning and support the growth of the firm's tax services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee compliance for a broad client portfolio with support from the tax team.
  • Provide technical leadership on tax planning, especially for HNWIs, trusts, estates, and directors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax return submissions, monitor deadlines, and advise clients on obligations and legislation changes.
  • Maintain high-quality compliance and advisory documentation for Partner review.
  • Plan workloads and manage team resources proactively, informing Partners of progress and bottlenecks.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive communication.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and share insights with the team and firm.
  • Identify new planning opportunities and contribute to business development.
  • Lead or participate in technical projects as required.
What We're Looking For
  • Significant experience in personal tax within a practice environment.
  • Leadership experience in compliance and advisory work.
  • Technical expertise with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships.
  • CTA qualification (preferred) or equivalent experience with a strong tax track record.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to develop trusted client relationships.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Broad understanding of accountancy principles is advantageous.
